What is kinusaiga?
Kinusaiga is a Japanese fabric art technique. Instead of sewing, you cut shallow grooves along the lines of a design and tuck small pieces of fabric into them, creating a textured picture that looks like a patchwork quilt.
Do I need to know how to sew or draw?
No. The design is already printed for you and there are no needles involved. If you can use scissors and a craft knife, you can make a Kinu Calm piece.
What comes in the kit?
A board, the printed design sheet, all the fabric for your design, a craft knife, a tucking tool, scissors, tape and step-by-step instructions.
How long does it take to finish?
Most people finish a piece over a few relaxing evenings. There's no rush – you can stop and pick it up again whenever you like.
Is it suitable for kids?
It's designed for adults and teens. Younger children can join in with adult supervision, since the kit includes a craft knife and scissors.
Can I hang it on the wall?
Yes. Once finished, your piece is ready to display on a shelf or hang on the wall, or you can add our wooden frame for $4.90.
How long does shipping take?
Orders are processed in 1–3 business days and delivered in 10–14 business days in the US. Custom kits from your photo need 3–4 extra business days to prepare. You'll receive a tracking number by email.
